first_imgReporting directly to the President, the VPFO serves on theSenior Management Team, and serves as the chief financial officerof the University. The VPFO provides comprehensive leadership andoperational accountability for financial planning; budgetmanagement (business operations); investment management; masterplanning; strategic planning; project management; contractmanagement; compliance and regulatory oversight; facilities andinfrastructure oversight; Information Technology (IT); purchasing;University Bookstore, institutional research; as well as serves asthe Foundation Board Treasurer, as the Board of TrusteesTreasurer. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree with a minimum of five years ofbusiness/administrative and budgeting experience.Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financialmanagement.Extensive experience in financial systems applications in thefinancial and management areas.Knowledge of accounting, payroll, budget analysis, purchasing,contracts and grants.Demonstrated ability to develop both short-term and long-termplans for the areas under direct supervision to successfullycomplete University goals and objectives.Demonstrated ability to manage, plan and coordinate technicalactivities while making sound decisions, establishing prioritiesand meeting deadlines on a regular basis by effectively managingown time and delegation to subordinates.Demonstrated ability to organize and direct a staff ofprofessional and administrative personnel.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in economics, finance, or related field.CPA.Ten or more years of senior leadership experience in publichigher education.Progressively more responsible senior leadership experience inhigher education.Demonstrated senior leadership experience in financial systemsmanagement, preferably in a higher education environment.Experience and understanding of the academic operations andculture of public higher education.Knowledge of higher education business and financialoperations.Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise personnel andcomplete all associated personnel actions in a timely and accuratemanner.Knowledge of physical plant, campus safety and security andpersonnel administration.Demonstrated ability to work with institutional research staffand data to develop predictive models concerning expenses, revenuesand long range financial planning.A commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. The VPFO oversees a dedicated staff of approximately 70employees within five distinct units. The VPFO provides leadershipin a wide variety of university activities.
