Thenormal teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year with theexception of first year HU faculty who will teach 18 credit hoursduring their first year of service. Engage in service activitiesincluding curriculum development; recruitment; advisement, andretention of culturally and linguistically diverse students.Develop program relations with area schools, agencies, andcommunity behavioral health centers including the establishment ofpracticum and internship placements. Maintain a program ofscholarly research and activity.In addition, this person will carry an advisee load of about 20 –25 counseling students. Faculty members are required to beavailable to students by scheduling and honoring office hours andby special appointment when necessary. Typically, without COVID -19restrictions in place, faculty hold office hours during normalworking hours that correspond to the locations and modalities oftheir courses. To facilitate academic advising, at least 2.5 officehours are held at the faculty member’s Location of Record in thefaculty member’s office. This person will also share faculty dutiesas they arise.Members of the full-time faculty are engaged and paid on the basisof academic year contract, including days when the university isopen, and classes are not in session.
