first_imgJax young lawyers collect money for Catholic Charities The Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association raised more than $16,000 for Catholic Charities of Jacksonville through its Tee It Up Golf Tournament.“We were honored to be selected as the benefactor of this tournament,” said Jennifer Garizio, executive director for Catholic Charities. “We were so impressed with this group of young adults’ dedication and commitment to serving the community.”More than 90 golfers, along with dozens of volunteers and sponsors, participated in the tournament at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club’s Ocean Course in October. This year’s annual event came after a four-year hiatus due to the economic downturn.The event included a silent auction and awards ceremony.The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section is comprised of area lawyers, 35 or younger, or who have been practicing law for less than five years.For more information, visit www.jaxbar.org/content/young-lawyers-association.
