The Argos Remain Ranked 24th After Day 3 of NCAA Championships

first_imgDAY 3 RESULTS #ARGOS#Print Friendly Version INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of West Florida swim and dive team competed in two events on day three of the NCAA Championships on Friday morning. The Argos didn’t place inside the top 16 in either event, resulting in no final races in the afternoon. West Florida stayed ranked in 24th place at the championships though, with a total of 16 points.Freshman Ester Rizzetto got things started for the Argonauts by swimming a prelim time of 4:59.75 in the 500 Freestyle. She finished in first during her heat, but unfortunately placed 21st overall in the event.Senior Pia Hulley swam the 100 Backstroke, placing 28th overall with a prelim time of 56.46. Hulley has participated in the 100 Backstroke event at the NCAA Championships every year of her four year career at UWF.Both Rizzetto and Hulley will compete in individual events tomorrow as well, including the 100 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke respectively. Then the relay team of Caitlin Tierney, Brooke Ferrara, Hannah O’Toole, and Manon Milczynski will swim in the 400 Relay to end the day.The meet wraps up on Saturday with a prelims session beginning at 10 a.m. ET and a finals session at 6 p.m .ET.
