The Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission is asking for proposals on how to spent $2.2 million on king salmon studies in the Cook Inlet and Yukon-Kuskokwim. FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Individual fishermen have already received their share of the $20.8 million federal disaster relief package meant to help the industry recover after the 2012 king salmon disaster; now, it’s the researchers’ turn. Proposals must fall into one of six categories: predators and mortality, drivers of freshwater mortality, drivers of marine mortality, escapement quality, biological drivers of production, and density-dependent effects. Pre-proposals must be submitted by the end of this month. Projects will be selected for funding on January 15, 2016.
