first_imgAFL BY SIMON KESLEP [email protected] There is tough road ahead for teams to overcome if they are serious about taking out the Esiloan Port Moresby AFL premiership title. The senior grade points ladder sees Bismark Maritime West Eagles 52, Lamana Dockers 52, Concept Koboni 36, Gordon Kokofa 32, Bomana Cats 28, North Waigani Royals Tigers 12 and Gereka Bombers 8. The points ladder in the reserve grade has Lamana Dockers 48, Bismark Maritime West Eagles 44, Gordon Kokofa 36, Bomana Cats 32, Concept Koboni 28, North Waigani Royals Tigers 24 and NCDC Gerehu Magpies 4. The women’s division competition table has Lamana Dockers on 20, Gordon Kokofa 20, Concept Koboni 8 and North Waigani Royals Tigers 0. PNG AFL senior community football manager Rex Leka told the Post-Courier that West Eagles are favourites over Dockers, Koboni and Kokofa for the cup in the senior division. “Whichever team makes lesser mistakes and scores goals will win, for the reserves, it will be a tight one as well between West Eagles and Dockers,” Leka said. He said there would not be any championships for this year because most of the outside centres have just started or were half way through their season. He also noted that coaching and umpire courses were planned and they will update interested participants when it is approved and ready to roll.last_img
